Description
The Vienna Philharmonic Gold Coin is Austria's flagship investment coin and one of Europe's best-known bullion coins. First issued in 1989 by Münze Österreich, it is struck in 999.9 fine gold and takes its design from the world-famous Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
The obverse depicts the Great Organ in Vienna's Golden Hall of the Musikverein. The reverse brings together instruments of the orchestra, including the cello, violins, Vienna horn, bassoon and harp.
The Gold Philharmonic is available in five investment sizes: 1 oz., ½ oz., ¼ oz., ⅒ oz. and 1/25 oz. Each is legal tender in Austria, with face values ranging from €100 for the 1 oz coin to €4 for the 1/25 oz coin.
Its combination of 999.9 gold purity, euro denomination and international recognition has made the Philharmonic one of Europe's benchmark physical-gold investment coins.
